Dental Practice Management Apprenticeship
The Dental Practice Management Apprenticeship is suitable for anyone employed in a Dental Practice as a Practice Manager. You will be responsible for managing all non-clinical aspects within a practice, to ensure excellent patient care, quality, cost and delivery performance in line with the practice strategy, goals and values.

Funding
Government funding is available subject to eligibility, however in order to trigger this funding an employer contribution of £900 is required.
Course Content
Over the duration of the course you will cover 8 main topics, Human Resources, Patient Care, Clinical, Marketing, Risk Management, Quality Assurance, Finance and the Dental Industry. Evidence for these will be gathered in a portfolio with a range of observations and written assessments.
Delegates will be required to spend a minimum of 20% of their apprenticeship conducting off the job training. This could include lectures, online learning, practical training, simulation exercises.
Delegates will need to undertake Level 2 functional skills in English and Maths prior to completion, if they have not already achieved this prior to the starting apprenticeship.
Following the successful completion of the portfolio, delegates will pass through the gateway stage to complete the End Point Assessment.
The End Point Assessment consists of two separate parts a project and an interview. The project will be undertaken over four months and is worth 65% of the final grade. The project will give delegates the chance to demonstrate, that they are able to apply the knowledge, skills and behaviours they have learned throughout the course.
The final interview is worth 35% of the final grade and allows the delegate to demonstrate, how they have carried out their work. Delegates will be assessed to ensure that they follow the behaviours set out in the Dental Practice Manager Standards.
Entry Requirements
Most candidates will have achieved grade C or above in English and Maths at GCSE level prior to commencement of apprenticeship. Most candidates will hold A levels or existing relevant Level 3 qualifications. Other relevant or prior experience may also be considered as an alternative.
You will need to employed as a Practice Manager and be working a minimum of 30 hours per week.
You will need to attend regular workshops throughout the duration of the apprenticeship as well as 1-2-1 visits in the workplace.
